The music publishing administration is collecting money for the music you write. When your music is used commercially, you, as the songwriter and copyright owner, are entitled to receive royalties. This is a different type of royalty than paid for distributing sound recordings, a separate copyright and income stream.
By signing up with UniteSync, you will retain 100% ownership and complete control of your compositions. UniteSync's Publishing Administration services will handle the licensing, registering, and collecting royalties on your behalf. This includes the administration of mechanical, performance, and synchronization licenses.
Mechanical licenses are required to reproduce your musical composition onto CDs, vinyl, and digital downloads. Performance licenses are required for the public performance of your music, including on the radio, TV, and live performances. Synchronization licenses are needed when your music is used in TV shows, films, and commercials.
UniteSync ensures that your compositions are appropriately registered with performance rights organizations (PROs) such as ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC. These PROs collect performance royalties from various sources, such as TV and radio stations, and distribute them to their members.
Important:
By utilizing UniteSync's Publishing Administration services, you can be confident that you are not leaving any potential income sources on the table. This is an additional revenue stream to the revenue UniteSync already pays you from distributing your records.
