When UniteSync takes over the administration of your catalog or songs, a formal notice called a Letter of Direction (LOD) is sent to collection societies and other income sources. This notice summarizes the administration agreement you have agreed to and authorizes UniteSync to start collecting money on your behalf. Please note that a LOD does not grant UniteSync ownership of your compositions.
Important:
A LOD is only necessary if you have an existing publishing entity and UniteSync takes over its administration. During registration, if you indicate that you have a publishing company affiliated with a Performing Rights Organization, you will be asked to sign an LOD electronically. By signing this LOD, you grant UniteSync administrative rights for your publishing entity and the ability to collect on your behalf.
