When you register a composition, it is now required that you account for 100% of the writer's shares in your Catalog. This is done to ensure that your works are accurately registered with societies that collect your royalties, such as:
Performance Rights Organizations (PROs) like ASCAP and BMI in the US
Mechanical Rights Organizations (MROs) like the MLC in the US or MCPS in the UK
Collective Management Organizations (CMOs) like SACEM in France.
When you register your shares with UniteSync, you ensure that the data is accurately matched. This leads to a more precise collection of royalties and a lower risk of duplicate registrations. Precise registration of your works is only possible when 100% of the information is accounted for. This enables us to collect your royalties accurately and without any delays.
If you do not own 100% of the composition, you will need to enter the remaining co-writer share. You will also need to enter their email so they can verify their shares. Your song's status will be "Pending" until your co-writer(s) accept their shares. Once their shares add up to 100%, the song's status will change to "Accepted". Finally, our team will verify your song, and its status will change to "Verified". After that, it will be sent to PROs/CMOs.
